This Privacy Policy explains how Live For Bass Inc., operating as bootiiq ("Bootiiq", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses and discloses personal information when you visit bootiiq.com (the "Site"), buy from us, sign up for our emails or otherwise contact us (together, the "Services"). We are based in Toronto, Ontario, and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to us.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, join our mailing list or contact us, we collect what you provide. That can include your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, order details, account login details, and the contents of any messages you send us.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other payment providers shown at checkout (such as Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay). We don't see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers collect device and usage information through cookies and similar technologies. That can include your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to your cart, and how you arrived at the Site.
How we use your information
- To process and ship your orders, handle returns and exchanges, and send order and shipping updates.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To send you emails about new pieces and launches, if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To run, secure and improve the Site, including preventing fraud.
- To understand how the Site is used and, where permitted, to measure and tailor our marketing.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used and support our marketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site, including checkout, may not work properly without them.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, including Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment processors, shipping carriers, and the email, analytics, review and site-building tools we use. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- Marketing platforms such as Meta, Google, Instagram and TikTok, when we use their tools to measure or show ads. You can control ad personalization in those platforms' settings.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights or our customers, or in connection with the sale or reorganization of our business.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers, including Shopify, may store and process your information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, it's subject to the laws of those countries, and authorities there may be able to access it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. For example, we keep order records as long as tax and accounting rules require. After that, we delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, and our platform and payment providers use industry-standard encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information to us by email.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Depending on where you live, including certain U.S. states, you may have additional rights, such as the right to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, email us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
The Services aren't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party sites such as Instagram and TikTok. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date.
